I grew up in Tigard, Oregon, in a home where my passion for local government, civic engagement, and policy development was sparked by my father. He loved a good political debate, but his politics were always rooted in a profound sense of compassion, integrity, and a genuine concern for others. His constant curiosity to understand how policies directly impact people's daily lives instilled in me a deep affection for public service, policy development, and advocacy—values I am proud to carry forward today.

As a political science major at the University of Oregon, my initial plan was to pursue a law degree after graduation. However, a college internship at the Springfield Chamber of Commerce changed my trajectory and opened my eyes to career paths where I could more directly shape state and local policy. Shortly after graduating in 2003, I joined a contract lobbying firm as a legislative assistant, immersing myself in the fast-paced world of Oregon politics. I was immediately captivated by the process—and I've been hooked ever since.

Since that time, I've had the privilege of advocating for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients, while also providing association management services tailored to the local government sector. In 2013, I joined the government relations team at the League of Oregon Cities (LOC). During my eight-year tenure, I advocated for cities on critical issues including water supply and water rights, state and local implementation of the Clean Water Act, natural resources, infrastructure, solid waste and recycling, public contracting, and building codes.

To deepen my policy and operational expertise, I joined Clean Water Services in Washington County in 2021. Working directly for a local government utility provider allowed me to more comprehensively engage in local, state, and federal water policy from the ground up.

Today, I am proud to still reside in Tigard—the city where I grew up—with my husband. Our daughter recently stepped into her own next chapter at Chapman University (Go Panthers!). In addition, I enjoy coaching dance (including dance team at Tigard High School), golf (a work in progress), wine-tasting, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
